Babylon University announced the discovery of the oldest temple in the ancient city of Babylon dating back about 1500 BC.
The excavation teams also found a collection of finds and artifacts after a long period of excavation and hard work in the city of Dulbat archaeological south of Babylon.
The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Dr. Qusay Al-Suhail visited the temple on 30/4/2019 to be aware of the work of the exploration teams. Accordingly, the minister provided the required support to the research team working in the temple of the god Urash.
In this sense, Al Mustaqbal University College contributed to the this achievement by donated caravans, solar panels and umbrellas in support of ongoing excavations operation executed by the Faculty of Arts / Department of Archeology at the University of Babylon
In the context of this event, a celebration organized by Al-Mustaqbal University College on Monday, 20/5/2019 and attended by the President of the University of Babylon, Dr. Adel Al-Baghdadi, the vice chancellor for scientific affairs and a number of university professors responsible for the temple. Accordingly, Al-Mustaqbal College donated tools and equipment’s requested by the research team, the operation site equipped with caravans to provide a work site and the lifting mechanisms of the site (Dunbar 2) and sun umbrellas.
For his part, President of the University of Babylon, Dr. Adel Al-Baghdadi, expressed his deep thanks and appreciation for the initiative presented by the Dean of Al-Mustaqbal University College and the continuous pursuit of the College to provide aid and continued its true support and effort to promote the educational organization as this project contributes greatly to the definition of the world and The depth, breadth and diversity of ancient civilizations that formed over the centuries the history of the civilization of the great Mesopotamia.
